The Animal Kingdom Lodge celebrates its 10th anniversary. The remarkable Disney World Resort Hotel debuted on April 16, 2001. The Animal Kingdom Lodge redefined the standard for Disney World Resorts as it combined spectacular architecture, authentic African theming, and a Resort with its own Savannah complete with African animals.

The Restaurants
The Animal Kingdom Lodge gives its guests three great choices to dine. For a casual meal you can visit the Mara for a Disney Quick Service Dining experience that includes some African inspired dishes to try.
If you are looking for a sit down meal for the family look no further than Boma. At Boma you have a buffet full of African inspired meats, vegetables, salads, soups, breads, and desserts. It is unlike any buffet that you have ever been to before, plus it has the theming of the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
The Animal Kingdom Lodge is also home to one of Disney World's Signature Restaurants - Jiko - The Cooking Place. Here you will experience an upscale dining experience with an African flair to the dishes. Truly a gourmet dining experience and an excellent place for couple looking for a special night out.
The Savannah
The most unique feature of Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is the fact that it has its own Savannah complete with a variety of African animals including Giraffes and Zebras. A large percentage of the Resort Rooms have direct views of the Savannahs, so you can watch the animals from you own private balconies. There are also public viewing areas that are staffed by knowledgeable Disney Cast Members available to answer your questions.
