Have you heard the tale of King Arthur as told in the novel The Sword In The Stone by T.H. White? Maybe you saw the Disney animated classic by the same name that was released in 1963.
If you visit Disney World, you too can have your chance to see if you can remove the sword from the stone. In the Magic Kingdom, the stone is located between the Golden Carousel and Cinderella's Castle (in Fantasyland of course).
The inscription on the stone reads as follows:
The Sword in the Stone
Whoso pulleth out this sword of this stone and anvil is rightwise ruler born of England
For a period of time there was actually a performance that occurred several times a day in which Merlin himself appeared at the stone. A crowd would gather around as Merlin announced that he was looking for someone who could remove the sword from the stone.
Invariably the big, strong adult that was chosen was unable to get the sword to budge, but the younger (obviously of Noble blood) lad that was later chosen was able to successfully get the sword to raise up.
The crowd cheered and Merlin awarded the victor with a medal proclaiming his accomplishment. The child also was temporarily crowned and adorned with a royal robe to the cheers of the crowd.

Alas, the daily appearances by Merlin have ceased, but the sword and stone remain. You may try your hand at removing the sword from the stone when you visit. With a little pixie dust and some Disney magic, you never know what might happen.
