When most people think of the Walt Disney World Resort the first image that comes to their mind is Cinderella's Castle in the Magic Kingdom.
The castle is the centerpiece of the Magic Kingdom, literally. The park is designed to radiate like spokes from a wheel from this central iconic landmark. This is what Walt Disney himself used to call a "Weenie": A visual element that could be used to draw people in and around a space.
The castle has been the focal point for millions of pictures, as Disney World guests clamor to capture all of its splendor. At 189 feet tall it can be seen from two miles away.

The Back Drop For The Show
The castle has hosted shows including Cinderella herself, which is only fitting.
It provides an excellent backdrop for the shows. It instantly gives the production a royal flair. This was taken during the Cinderellabration production.
The Night Time Mood Setter
At night the Cinderella's Castle can take on a completely different feel as various lighting is used to set the mood. From the joyous celebrations during the day, to the more ominous feeling during Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.
Plussing The Night With Spectromagic
The Disney Imagineers are always looking for ways of "plussing" an attraction , or making it even better. By lighting up the castle at night the Spectromagic Parade is even more spectacular.
Lighting Up The Holidays
Last year the Christmas Holiday decorations at the Magic Kingdom became even more amazing with the additional of thousands of lights to Cinderella's Castle. The effect is amazing and sure to be a new holiday tradition.
THE Disney World Icon
It is impossible to think about the Magic Kingdom and Disney World without including this true icon: Cinderella's Castle.
