Spring will arrive earlier than usual at the Walt Disney World Resort this year. That is due to the fact that Epcot’s 17th Annual Flower & Garden Festival will be starting on March 3rd, 2010. This is over 2 weeks earlier than in prior years.
The reason for the earlier start is to provide ideas for the guests to carry home to try in their own personal gardens.
Although Epcot is well landscaped during any time of the year, the staff of horticulturists and landscapers at Epcot will oversee the planting of over 500 plant species and see over 30 million blooms during the 45 day festival. You will see a variety of special gardens created and over 70 topiaries throughout the park.
For those that have not visited the Flower & Garden Festival before it is quite a sight to behold. It is no wonder that many people plan their Disney World vacations to coincide with the F&G festival in order to take in the breath taking displays.
2010 brings even more displays and special gardens than ever before. Near the American Adventure you will find topiaries of Mickey Mouse, Pluto, Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse, & Goofy in a new Victory Garden as a salute to the history of World War II gardens.
Near the Germany Pavilion you will find a Pirate Adventure Zone with topiaries of Peter Pan, Captain Hook, and Croc that entices young pirates-to-be to explore and seek adventure.
For the Tinkerbell fans, there will be a newly expanded Pixie Hollow Fairy Garden Area with topiaries of Tinkerbell and her fairy friends, as well as, interactive activities.
At World Showcase Plaza there will be a first ever topiary of Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse re-enacting the famous Grant Wood painting “American Gothic.”
Besides all of the flowers, topiaries, and gardens there will also be entertainment. The Flower Power Concert Series returns again with 3 free shows nightly during each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of the festival. The concerts take place at the America Gardens Theater in the World Showcase.

Flowers, Entertainment, & Education
During the 17th Annual Flower & Garden Festival which runs from March 3 – May 16, 2010, a full 75 days, you will get to see beautiful gardens, be entertained, and have a opportunity to learn.
Each year Disney brings in expert gardeners and horticulturists to give seminars during the festival, for the guests that would like to re-create at little of this magic in their own gardens back home.
Pictures never seem to do justice to the splendor that you see when you visit Epcot during the festival first hand. The sights and smells are wonderful. It truly lets you know that Spring has arrived.
If you have never visited during the Flower & Garden Festival please make an effort to see it in 2010. For those that have visited previously, know that this year’s festival is bigger and better than ever before. Take the time to stop and smell the roses, literally, at Epcot this Spring.
Fran Cosmo is NOT the former lead singer of BOSTON. That was Brad Delp who took his own life in 2007. Fran was a vocalist with the band and is now doing his own thing.
This type of listing is confusing fans of the real band BOSTON and it is disheartening to the friends and family of the late Delp.
Thank you.

The statement concerning Fran Cosmos' relationship with Boston was taken as worded in the Disney Press statement.
After researching further, I understand your statements, and no disrespect was intended.
I think it heartening that Disney changed the dates of this festival for the express purpose of helping guests when they get home.
Very thoughtful of Disney.
I love Disney!
